Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector is a dynamic sector which supports the Indian economy at significant level. MSME sector is the largest employment provider after the agriculture MSME sector and has been spread across the nation with a size of around INR sixty million, comprising of over 19 million manufacturing units. The total employment provided by MSME sector is coming up to 110 million, with women employment being around 10 million.
MSME plays a vital role, as it accounts for 50% of the country's exports and 29% of the overall GDP.
Though several incentives and welfare schemes are being announced by both state and central governments, the sector has several hurdles due to which many domestic entrepreneurs are shutting down the units with huge financial losses.
On the other hand, the sector is one of the un-organised sectors of the country where entrepreneurs are the major source of income to the financial institutions but were neglected often. Apparently, the sector is unable to gain confidence of the end-users due to lack of publicity and marketing support at various levels.
Different welfare schemes and economic factors are also troubling the entrepreneurs to get the quality manpower required for operations.
As a newly formed state, the industrialization, skilled man-power and technical expertise are limited with us. Nevertheless, the resources are high. Another advantage to the state of Andhra Pradesh is the long coast, if around 1000 KM.
With the above facts, FAPSIA strives to develop the MSME sector in the state which can in turn support the state and national economy at large.
